Communicating Conservation Messages

Achieving conservation goals requires sustained and increased support and funding for existing public land conservation programs, increased private sector investment and capacity, and other new sources of conservation financing. All of these depend upon a supportive public, interested landowners, dedicated conservationists, and committed public officials.

How can all of us most effectively communicate the value of land conservation in ways that unite and bolster conservation efforts in the Chesapeake Bay watershed?

To answer this, Spitfire Communications, on behalf of the Partnership and with additional support from the Appalachian Trail Landscape Partnership, the Eastern Shore Land Conservancy, and the Agua Foundation, have developed a Narrative Toolkit: Tools for Communicating Conservation Messages.

This toolkit presents a shared narrative for uniting all of our efforts, as well as tools and resources for partnership members to implement and tailor the narrative to be relevant to their work and priority audiences. To access all of these tools visit our Resources page.

The Partnership and Spitfire conducted training workshops on the toolkit with practitioners at sessions in Maryland, Virginia (see this Lightning Update) and Pennsylvania in 2019.
