CCP Green Space Equity Mapping
The Chesapeake Conservation Partnership fosters collaborative action to conserve valuable landscapes for public access, and cultural and ecological significance to benefit people, local economies, and nature throughout the watershed. To further these goals, the Chesapeake Bay Program awarded a grant to Skeo Solutions to create the Green Space Equity Mapper to assist in identifying and prioritizing conservation opportunities in low-income communities and communities of color throughout the watershed with limited or no access to open space. This web-based map tool includes a set of interactive map layers to assist all government agencies, land trusts, and other conservation organizations and community groups in identifying areas most in need of green spaces within or immediately proximate to them and how these areas relate to demographics, community risks, and land cover.
